2013 marks the 30th anniversary of The Shanghai Quartet, and the group is celebrating with some of their most beloved selections in this special Friday night concert event. Along with selections by Dvořák and Mozart, the Shanghais welcome internationally renowned soprano Ying Huang to perform selections from Chinasong. Written and arranged by Shanghai Quartet violinist Yi-Wen Jiang, ChinaSong mixes traditional and popular Chinese folk music with the classic string quartet line-up. The result is a bridging of east and west that has been the hallmark of the Shanghai Quartet’s long and storied career.
