A 1970 Broadway sensation, Company explores the trials and tribulations of modern love as seen through the eyes of musical theatre’s most beloved commitment-phobe, Bobby. With music and lyrics by celebrated composer Stephen Sondheim, Company delves into relationships through a series of vignettes with the wry and clever insight that made the American songsmith famous.

Artists

Stephen Sondheim the scores for Sweeney Todd, Pacific Overtures, The Frogs, A Little Night Music, Follies, Company, Anyone Can Whistle, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, as well as the lyrics for West Side Story, Gypsy, Do I Hear A Waltz? and additional lyrics for Candide. Side by Side by Sondheim was an anthology of his work as composer and lyricist. He co-authored the film The Last of Sheila and composed the film scores for Stavisky and Reds. He is on the council of the Dramatists Guild, the national association of playwrights, composers, and lyricists, having served as its president from 1973 to 1981.


George Furth was born in Chicago, got his bachelor’s degree at Northwestern School of Speech and went to Columbia for his graduate work. Having acted in 40 movies and countless TV shows, he went on to write Company, Twigs, The Act, The Supporting Cast, Merrily We Roll Along, and Precious Sons. Mr. Furth has won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama-Logue, Andy, and London’s Evening Standard awards. He was a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Actors Studio. He died on August 11, 2008 in Santa Monica, CA.


Todd L. Underwood is an award winning choreographer whose work has been seen on stage in theatres across the country as well as on the screen. This spring Todd will be an artist in residence at Brimingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama and will be choreographing their production of Jesus Christ Superstar.


Greg Dlugos, a graduate of Hartt Conservatory of Music, has worked extensively on Broadway and has served as conductor, associate conductor, musical director, pianist and keyboardist for numerous shows. Within the last few years, he has been engaged by the Broadway productions of Young Frankenstein, Fosse, Thou Shalt Not, Chicago, Nine, The Blonde in the Thunderbird and In My Life. Between steady engagements, he has performed as Conductor or Keyboardist for Beauty and the Beast, The Phantom of the Opera, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Producers and The Wedding Singer among others. As a composer, he has written industrial music for IBM, American Airlines and McNeil Labs. As an arranger, orchestrator and dance arranger, he has worked with personalities such as Betty Buckley, Antonio Banderas, Elaine Paige and Chita Rivera. He also serves as an organist for Sunday services in New Jersey.
