An Evening with Jason Robert Brown

Concert

Jason Robert Brown is one of Broadway’s most electrifying and versatile talents — a composer, lyricist, conductor, arranger, director, and performer whose music has defined a generation of contemporary musical theater. He is best known for his Tony Award-winning scores to Parade (1999, 2023 Revival), the landmark song cycle Songs for a New World, and the modern classic The Last Five Years (currently on Broadway starring Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren). His other celebrated works include The Bridges of Madison County, Honeymoon in Vegas, 13, Mr. Saturday Night, and his recent collaborations The Connector and Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Hailed as “one of Broadway’s smartest and most sophisticated songwriters since Stephen Sondheim” (Philadelphia Inquirer), Brown’s “extraordinary, jubilant theater music” (Chicago Tribune) has earned him acclaim around the world.

A dynamic performer as well as a writer, Brown has headlined concerts globally — from Carnegie Hall to the London Palladium — and collaborated with artists including Ariana Grande, Audra McDonald, Brandi Carlile, and Billy Porter. His albums How We React and How We Recover and Coming From Inside the House (featuring Ariana Grande and Shoshana Bean) showcase his signature blend of emotional honesty and musical virtuosity. A frequent educator and mentor, Brown has taught at USC, Harvard, and Princeton, and continues to shape the next generation of musical theater artists.
