John J. Cali School of Music

Join the John J. Cali School of Music for a festival of great performances, April 24-29 at the Alexander Kasser Theater at Montclair State University! The week will feature performances by:

MSU Symphonic Band & MSU Campus Band
This evening will have exciting and inspiring music for winds, brass, and percussion on Tuesday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m.

MSU Symphony Orchestra
The MSU Symphony Orchestra will perform Copland’s John Henry, Yoshimatsu’s Cyberbird Concerto with Thomas Kurtz, saxophone, Bernstein’s Symphony No. 1 (Jeremiah) with mezzo-soprano Jeanne-Michèle Charbonnet, and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 (New World) on April 25 at 7:30 p.m.

MSU Wind Symphony: Parks and Recreation
This special performance pays tribute to legendary civil rights Rosa Parks with Mark Camphouse’s A Movement for Rosa, Michael Daughtery’s Rosa Parks Boulevard, and other pieces by Mozart, Stravinsky, Bernstein, and Bolcom on April 27 at 7:30 p.m.

MSU Singers & MSU Chorale
Join us this evening to experience the New Jersey Premiere performance of Jubilate Deo by Dan Forrest with guest soloists, children’s choir, and instrumental artists. A pre-concert presentation will be held in the Alexander Kasser Theater, Studio 104 at 7 p.m., before the 8 p.m. performance.

MSU Jazz Ensemble
This performance will feature guest composer and saxophonist David Bixler, who will be performing his work with the MSU Jazz Ensemble on April 29 at 3 p.m.
