Addicted to Bad Ideas: Peter Lorre’s 20th Century
Music and Libretto by World/Inferno Friendship Society
Directed by Jay Scheib

Legendary Brooklyn punk group World/Inferno Friendship Society (WIFS) joins forces with Jay Scheib, one of contemporary theatre’s brightest young directors, to create a cabaret punk-rock operetta for our times. Continuing the evolution of the genre via the ultimate 20th century archetype of alienation, Peter Lorre; WIFS dedicates a furious song cycle following Lorre’s unheralded existence from his days with Wedekind and Brecht through the cycle of World Wars to a pitiless fall from grace within the drug-infused quagmire of Hollywood. Led by the inimitable Jack Terricloth (formerly of Sticks and Stones), WIFS paints a picture of the twentieth century from the outsider’s eye via a multimedia spectacle. Bring out your Doc Martens and expect an ‘in your face’ experience.
